Retina display on the new MacBook Pro

Lets face it, photographers need high quality screens.
Either you use a MacBook or a desktop you need to have access to see your photos as they really are!

Previous MacBook Pro's did quite well in this aspect but their good laptop screens couldn't compare even with a cheaper calibrated monitor in color accuracy.
Maybe the new retina display that come up recently will change the game but what about color accuracy ?

It seems the new retina displays can play an important role for photography and portable image editing.

Adobe Lightroom 4

Adobe Lightroom is a pure photographic tool to edit and manipulate images in a much better workflow system than any other time before was possible.

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is not any more the war tank of the professional photographer but other software have taken its place as the major editing platform.

As years went by Adobe Photoshop became more and more a tool for the graphic artist and less for the pro photographer.
Dominating specialized photographic software at this moment are Aperture from Apple and Lightroom from Adobe

An Adobe Photoshop free replacement editing tool is Gimp, gaining more ground as a decent software for image manipulation and it's free!
